Vietnam likely to pass yearly target for international tourists

In August, Vietnam welcomed more than 427,900 international tourists, a year-on-year increase of 38 percent, and is expected to receive over 4 million visitors during the whole year, announced the General Statistics Office.

With 65,000-90,000 Chinese arrivals to Vietnam a month, China remains the leading market for Vietnamese tourism.

In the first eight months of this year alone, HCM City received almost 1.93 million foreign visitors, a rise of 14 percent over the same period last year.

The city hopes to welcome 3 million by the end of the year, seven percent above plan. – VOV
