Vietnam insurance premium estimated at 30.69tr dong in 2010

The total insurance premium is estimated to have reached 30.69 trillion dong in 2010, up 20.3% year on year and equalling to 1.7% of GDP, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

This year, insurance firms invested about 92.809 trillion dong in the economy, up nearly 26 trillion dong from 2009. Insurers settled nearly 12.033 trillion dong of insurance compensations for institutions and individuals.

In 2011, the total insurance premium would reach 35.29 trillion dong, up 18.8% year-on-year, said the finance ministry.
