Vietnam imports 5M tons of petroleum products worth $3.3B in H1

ietnam spent $3.3 billion on importing 5 million metric tons of petroleum products in the first half of this year, rising 13.2% from a year earlier in value despite a 22.1% fall in volume, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.

Of the products, the nation imported 1 million metric tons of gasoline worth $743.7 million; 2.8 million metric tons of diesel valued at $1.8 billion; 1 million metric tons of fuel oil worth $468 million; 373,700 metric tons of jet fuel valued at $265 million; and 14,900 metric tons of kerosene worth $9.6 million.

Singapore was the top supplier of petroleum products for Vietnam in H1 with 2 million metric tons worth $1.17 billion.

It was followed by China with 865,814 metric tons valued at $590.6 million; Taiwan with 620,209 metric tons worth $419.6 million; and South Korea with 569,828 metric tons valued at $387.5 million.
