Vietnam Hotels’ Association Makes Debut

The Vietnam Hotels’ Association made its debut on Jan 10 with the aim to boost cooperation among members.
The association, which is led by Do Hong Xoan, head of the Hotel Department under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), will help raise competitiveness and quality of hotels, give financial and technical supports for the members, stabilize the hotel market and protect legal rights of all members.
By end-September of 2009, the country had 303 three- to five-star hotels, including 32 five-star hotels and 92 four-star hotels.
The country has allowed all high-end hotels to keep their entertainment facilities open until 2 a.m. early this year instead of 12:00 a.m. to attract tourists and improve business activities. (Culture)
