Vietnam H1 Industrial Output +13.6% at VND366.12T: GSO

Vietnam’s industrial production output rose 13.6% from a year earlier to VND366.12 trillion (US$19.2 billion) in the first half of 2010, the General Statistics Office said on July 1.

In June, the country’s industrial production value increased 14.6% on year to VND66.15 trillion, the GSO said in a statement.

During the six-month period, the foreign-invested sector posted the highest on-year growth of 17% to VND153.45 trillion; followed by the non-state sector with 12.6% to VND130.3 trillion and the state-owned sector with 9.5% to VND82.35 trillion.

Of the VND153.45 trillion posted by foreign-invested firms, the oil and gas sector contributed VND15.5 trillion, down 7.3% on year.
