Vietnam, Finland to boost labour cooperation

Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received her Finnish counterpart Anni Sinnemaki on September 6 for a working session.

Mrs. Anni Sinnemaki visited Mrs. Ngan as part of her official visit to Vietnam from September 5-8. At the working session, both sides informed other about their respective country’s development of the labour market, laws on labour, and especially policies regarding integrated workers.

They reviewed the discussions between Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Finland’s Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen in 2009 and the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on labour cooperation.

Both ministers also agreed to further promote cooperation in compliance with the MoU.

They expressed their delight at the initial success of the cooperation programme between the Southern Ostrobothia with Hanoi Industrial Vocational College, which is expected to begin the establishment of a partnership and long-term cooperation in training Vietnamese workers for Finland’s labour market. – VOV
