Vietnam Exports to U.S. +22.56% to US$6.23B in H1

Vietnam’s exports to the U.S. soared 22.56% from a year earlier to US$6.23 billion in the first half of this year, including US$1.28 billion in June, up 126.31%.

Apparel remained Vietnam’s biggest cash earner with US$2.75 billion in H1, up 20.56% on year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.

The country’s other export staples were woodwork products with US$619.54 million, up 33.19% on-year, footwear with US$619.28 million, up 15.55%, and seafood with US$323.39 million, up 8.73%.

The Vietnamese General Department of Customs forecast the bilateral trade will surge to US$19 billion and US$20 billion in 2010.
