Vietnam is estimated to have exported 650,000 tons of steel worth $950 million in November, 20 times higher for quantity and up 179% for value from last November

Vietnam is estimated to have exported 650,000 tons of steel worth $950 million in November, 20 times higher for quantity and up 179% for value from last November, the local newspaper Saigongiaiphong reported on November 2, citing the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).

The country’s steel output is expected to reach 8.7 million tons in 2010, increasing 26% from 2009 while domestic steel sales is estimated to increase 17% to 5.4 million tons this year, VSA said.

For the whole year of 2010, Vietnam is estimated to export 1.3 million tons of steel and import 1.8 million tons (falling 15% on year), VSA added. – Stoxplus.com
