Vietnam EVN power output +15.69% to over 72B kWh in Jan-Sept

The state-run Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN), the country’s sole power distributor, had a total power output of 72.03 billion kWh in the first nine months of this year, up 15.69% from a year earlier.

Of the figure, the group produced 44 billion kWh and bought 20.03 billion kWh during the period.

EVN bought over four billion kWh of electricity from neighboring China in the Jan-Sept.

In Sept, the group’s power output rose 14.45% on year to 8.395 billion kWh, of which it produced 5.277 billion kWh and bought 3.117 billion kWh, including 514 million kWh from China.

The national power output was averaged at 288.4 million kWh per day during the month.

The output is forecast at 287.7 million kWh a day in October, down 0.24% versus September, with a power generation capacity of between 15,500 MW and 16,000 MW. (Liberated Saigon)
