Vietnam draws on Finland’s experience in promoting science and technology

A delegation from the Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology visited Finland from January 16-25 to gather ideas for promoting science and technology.

The visit was part of the two countries’ Innovation Partnership Programme (IPP). During their visit, the Vietnamese delegation held working sessions with nearly 20 relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Helsinki University and the Institute of Science and Technology.

Both sides shared their experiences in boosting science and technology development and agreed to strengthen cooperation in this area. They also discussed measures to increase the effectiveness of science and technology managers, promote negotiations and strengthen links among communities in applying science and technology.

The IPP will continue in three years, from August 2009 to August 2012, with the aim of ensuring sustainable development through boosting science and technology.
