Vietnam delivers record-sized car carrier

Halong Shipping, located in Quang Ninh province delivered a car carrier, the “Victory Leader,” with a capacity of 4,900 vehicles, to Ray Car Carrier of Israel on April 29.

It is the first time a Vietnamese shipbuilder has produced such a large, modern car carrier. It is 185.6m long, 32.26m wide and 38.91m high with 11 car-carrying decks and is fully automated.

The ship was designed by the Naval Progetti Design Institute of Italy and the construction was supervised by the DNV Corporation of Norway in line with the latest conventions of the International Marine Organisation.
