Vietnam attends trade union meeting in Singapore

Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) Nguyen Hoa Binh led a delegation to attend a consultation meeting in Singapore on March 4.

The meeting between the International Trade Union Regional Organisation for Asia-Pacific (ITUC-AP) and the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) Central Committee was also attended by ITUC-AP General Secretary Noriyuki Suzuki and the Vice President of the LFTU Central Committee.

The participants exchanged information on their organisations’ trade union activities and discussed measures to further strengthen cooperation between the three organisations in the time to come.

Established in September 2007, ITUC-AP is a regional trade union organisation with more than 19 million trade unionists. Despite not being ITUC-AP members, the VGCL and LFTU still maintain a partnership and cooperation with the organisation in various trade union fields.

On the occasion, VGCL Vice President Binh had working sessions with the President of the Singapore National Trade Union Congress and the General Secretary of the Union Network International – Asia-Pacific Regional Organisation (UNI-APRO).
