Vietnam Aims to Earn Tourism Revenues of US$10B in 2015: VNAT
Vietnam’s tourism industry targets to earn revenues of US$10 billion to US$11 billion in 2015, tripling 2008’s figure, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon Magazine reported on its website Dec 2, citing the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
This is one of the goals the VNAT has set for the national tourism development strategy from now to 2020 and vision for further development toward 2030.
The country is also expected to welcome from seven million to eight million international tourists and between 32 million and 35 million domestic visitors by 2015.
Vietnam will focus on diversifying tourism products, launching overseas promotion campaigns, said Nguyen Van Tuan, head of the VNAT.
The strategy will be submitted to the government for approval this month.
