Vietnam’s petrol prices much lower than neighboring countries, Petrolimex says

Petrolimex said in the 31st report on June 16 that the country’s gasoline price was lower 5,496 dong per liter than of Laos’, 3,064 dong/liter of Cambodia’s, 12,346 dong/liter of Singapore’s and 3.621 dong/liter of China.
Crude oil price on the world market has fluctuated strongly but mainly for the fear of a reduction in demand. Price of WTO crude oil during the first half of June stayed at $99.31 a barrel, down $4.08 compared with the same period of May but higher 34.91% against one year earlier. Meanwhile, the brent crude oil averaged at $116,71 a barrel, surging $0.78 or 0.67% over first 15 days of May 201and jumping 57.81% year-on-year.

Regarding gasoline Ron 92 for example (according to the forex rate between US dollar and dong on June 7), Lao State Fuel Co sells gasoline at 10,760 kip a liter (26,796 dong/liter) in Laos, SOKIMEX of Cambodia retails Ron 92 at 5,050 riels (24,706 dong) per liter, and Singapore’s SPC retails at 1,990 Singaporean dollars (33,646 dong)/liter, and China sells at 7,990 yuan (24,921 dong)/liter.

In Vietnam, gasoline Ron 92 is retailed at 21,300 dong per liter. – Vietbiz24
