Vietnam’s April trade gap hits 16-month high
Thus, Vietnam’s trade deficit in April was about $1.493 billion. This is also the highest figure during 16 recent months and marks the country’s trade deficit for 25th consecutive month.
Till the end of April, Vietnam’s total export turnover reached nearly $27.25 billion, up 37.2 percent from the same period last year and equaling to 34.3 percent of the year’s plan, averaging at $6.8 billion in export turnover per month.
Meanwhile, the country’s import value in Jan-Apr was over $32.13 billion, rising 30.3 percent year on year and accounting for 34.4 percent of the year’s plan, averaging at over $8.3 billion per month.
Thus, till the end of April, Vietnam’s trade gap was nearly $4.9 billion, up 6.5 percent year on year.
