Total electricity demand for production at nearly 118b kWh in 2011

The total shortage of water according to the requirement of the reservoir would be about 13 billion cubic metres, equalling to about 3 billion kWh in 2011.

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) on late February 26 said that the country’s total electricity demand for production would be about 117.63 billion kWh in 2011, increasing 17.63 percent against the total electricity production output in 2010.

Of which, the total demand of electricity for production during six months of dry season 2011 would be 56.14 billion kWh, rising 18.3 percent against the actualised figure of the same period last year and the total demand of electricity for production during the second half of 2011 would be 61.49 billion kWh, a year-on-year rise of 16.8 percent.

According to the approved plan, the country’s total electricity production and export would reach 115.56 billion kWh including 54.06 billion kWh in the dry season.
