TNT opens expanded operations centre in Hanoi
TNT, one of the world’s leading express delivery firms, yesterday launched a newly-expanded operations centre in Hanoi, which is three times larger than the original.
The Hanoi Operations centre is part of TNT’s expansion plan to meet increasing demand of freight transport in and out of Vietnam. The $1.5 million facility is operated by over 100 employees to handle up to 100 tonnes of goods a day.
The centre is equipped with dock levellers at the entrance and provides customers an in-house customs procedure with X-ray scanners, and automated weight and volume scanners. It also has a radio-frequency shipment tracking system, closed-circuit television surveillance and alarm system to assure that goods are secure.
Apart from TNT’s air network connection, the centre is linked to TNT’s Asia Road Network (ARN) that has been operational in Asia for the past five years. The network links Vietnam with six other countries in the region, including China and Thailand.
TNT also plans to make another 4.5 million-euro investment in the ARN within the next two years. – saigon times
