Tet bonuses to reach $18,000 in southern metro

A domestic bottled drinking water producer is offering Ho Chi Minh City’s highest Tet bonus this year at a whopping 376 million dong (US$18,800), official figures have showed.

Ho Chi Minh City Export and Processing Zone Authorities (HEPZA), which reviewed a list of bonuses planned by HEPZA-located enterprises for the Lunar New Year holiday, reviewed the lists’ findings Saturday without mentioning the name of the water company.

Nguyen Tan Dinh, deputy director of HEPZA also said that the lowest bonus to be paid for the upcoming Tet festival would be only 900,000 dong ($45) shelled out by a domestic company.

The foreign-invested sector in HEPZA registered the highest bonus of 120 million dong ($6,000).

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs require enterprises to report on payment of salary, bonus to employees before December 31, 2010. – Tuoitre
