Steel export increases sharply by 20 times y-o-y

The Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) announced yesterday that the steel export continued increasing sharply with accumulative export turnover in the first eleven months of this year at $910 million, up 179 percent in value and nearly 20 times in volume in comparison with the same period last year.

In details, in Jan-November period the cold-scrolled steel export increased by 919 percent to 650,000 tonnes, while construction steel up 138 percent to 140,000 tonnes.

VSA predicted that the country’s whole year steel production output may reach 8.7 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 26 percent, while Vietnam’s steel export in 2010 of 1.3 million tonnes. – Dai doan ket
