Stator for Su Pan 2 hydropower plant installed

Song Da Hydropower Group has successfully installed the 29.5-tonne stator of the first turbine in Su Pan 2 hydropower plant, sited in two communes of Su Pan and Ban Ho, Sa Pa Dist, Lao Cai province.

Nguyen Thanh Kim, director of Song Da-Hoang Lien hydropower Joint Stock Co said that after two days of installation, the China-made stator has been installed in right place, meeting all the technical standards. In Q4, his company planned to install the other parts of turbine and rotor in the system, so as to put the first turbine of Su Pan 2 hydropower plant into operation by the end of this year.

The construction works on this hydropower plant was started on January 28, 2007. The power plant has got three turbines, with total investment capital of 900 billion dong. The hydropower plant was expected to produce 147 million KWh to the national grid each year.
