South Korean EPC to build power plant in Vietnam

The Taekwang Group of South Korea, lead by engineering, procurement and construction firm Taekwang Vina Industrial, is planning to build a $4.5 billion coal-fired power plant in northern Vietnam under the build-operate-transfer model, according to Power Gen Worldwide.

During the project’s first phase, from 2016 to 2017, two 600-megawatt turbine groups will be built. During the second phase, from 2020 to 2021, two more 600-megawatt turbines will be constructed.

Projects such as these typically call for the transport of breakbulk and heavy lift project cargo.
