Singapore’s Keppel wins $200 mln Vietnam rig order

Keppel Corp, the world’s top offshore oil rig builder, said on Monday it has won a contract worth about $200 million to build a rig for PetroVietnam.

The semi-submersible drilling tender assist rig, Vietnam’s first such rig, will likely be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Keppel said earlier on Monday it had won a $304 million contract to upgrade and repair two Noble Corp drillships in Brazil. Keppel has struggled to win sizeable orders since the financial crisis, but is aiming for $2 billion of orders in 2010.
