Share prices massively slump but trading volume increases


After March 29 session, the VN Index declined by 1.64 points or 0.36 percent to 457.88 pts and the HNX Index also slumped by 1.13 points or 1.21 percent to 91.94 pts.



On the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC), the total trading volume including matching order trade and negotiation transactions reached over 35.83 million shares worth over 888.98 billion dong, surging by 52.79 percent in volume and 72.31 percent in value from the previous trading session.



On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the total market trades even reached 63.35 million shares valued at over 854.49 billion dong, sharply increasing by 124.89 percent in volume and 107.49 percent in value over yesterday session.



At the time of closing the trading session, the southern bourse witnessed 61 gainers and 165 losers while the figures on HNX of 58 gainers and 217 losers.
