Second Lotte Mart opens in HCM City

Korea’s leading chainstore Lotte Mart opens its second store in the country today with a total investment of VND1.9 trillion (US$100 million) just two years after it launched the first one in new urban area of Phu My Hung in district 7.

Lotte Mart Phu Tho occupies all five lower shopping floors of the new building complex Everich with a total shopping area of 12,000sq.m.

The supermarket is a complex that includes restaurants, fast-food shops, bookstores, cinema, drugstores, beauty clinics, hair and skin care centres and an 800sq.m playzone for kids.

The mart targets middle-class average-income clientele, according to Hong Pyong Gyu, general director of Lotte Viet Nam Shopping.

Up to 95 per cent of goods in the store are supplied by local manufacturers, and only five per cent are imported from Korea, China and Japan, he said.
