Scores of Hanoi’s future projects to be amended
Over 244 planning, construction and investment projects for Hanoi have been re-evaluated, and many of these projects will be revised and corrected in accordance with the city’s general planning rules.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung agreed, in principle, for these projects to be carried on, but Hanoi authority will need to coordinate with the Ministry of Construction to revise and correct all projects tto insure they work within the framework of the city’s future planning..
Following the guidance above, the Hanoi City People’s Committee has reviewed 143 projects, most concentrated in the areas of Ha Dong, Tu Liem, Me Linh, Hoai Duc, and Thanh Tri districts. Among those, 112 documents were provided by investors.
The results after review show that only 50 out of 143 projects were permitted to deploy without amendments, 87 needed to be revised in regards to infrastructure changes before they can be approved, and 6 projects do not contribute to the urban and industrial development of Hanoi, or are affected by major transportation routes, but will still be considered.
However, the remaining 101 out of 244 projects were approved for their first stages by the Prime Minister, but no documents on the implementation of these projects has been submitted according to the government’s regulations.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee, Mr. Phi Thai Binh, said he will continue to notify investors through the mass media and by sending notices directly to them. The committee will be asking them to immediately provide implementation documents for reviewing, in regards to coupling technical infrastructure.
If these documents are not submitted within 30 days, the city’s People’s Committee will revoke current investors and reassign the projects to other investors who are able to comply with the government’s regulations.
