Saigon Co.op opens new store in south

Vietnam’s leading supermarket chain, Saigon Co.op, on January 9 opened a new Co.opMart in the southern province of Dong Nai, raising the total number of stores in Vietnam to 43.

Located in Tan Bien Ward, Bien Hoa City, the store has 4,000 square meters of retail space with total investment capital of VND35 billion (US$1.8 million).

It was designed and built to incorporate both modern and traditional market styles.

On the same day, Satra Southwest Company Limited began operations at the Moc Bai border, Tay Ninh Province.

The company will coordinate with Cambodian businesses to build agricultural processing factories and organize a center to sell high-quality Vietnamese goods at borders’ economic zones.

The company also trades in wholesale and retail goods such as food, building materials, agricultural products, fertilizers, and machinery.
