The rubber price is predicted to remain at a high level in the second quarter of this year. The world price of natural rubber is projected to exceed US$3,000 a tonne due to the reduction in its supply source and the world economy’s rebound which will cause a sharp increase in consumption demand for natural rubber.

At present, the area under rubber trees in Vietnam is put at 160,000 hectares with its output of around 300,000 tonnes a year.

It is planned that the Vietnam Rubber Group will manage 520,000 hectares of rubber by 2020.
