Rice exports from Vietnam reach 3.39 million tons, group says

Vietnam, the world’s second-largest rice exporter, shipped 3.39 million metric tons from the start of the year to June 9, the Vietnam Food Association said.

Shipments were 121,659 tons between June 1 and June 9, the association said in a statement on its website today.

Vietnam may ship as much as 7.4 million tons in 2011, the agricultural ministry said on April 8. The nation exported 6.75 million tons last year, according to the association. – Bloomberg
