PTSC: Mastering Oil and Gas Techniques

PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) has gradually mastered its techniques to provide high-quality specialised services for oil and gas contractors as well as PetroVietnam affiliates.

After 16 years of effort and development, PTSC has made long strides. With 20 member and affiliated units, PTSC is now providing a wide range of services for oil and gas industry. Many services have reached international standards, including supply base services, designing services, engineering, installation and trial running services for oil and gas projects, FPSO/FSO operating and management services, operating and maintenance services (O&M), remotely operated vehicles (ROV), and oil and gas equipment supply services, etc.

PTSC Mastering Oil and Gas Techniques

PTSC’s technician workforce has carried out many key oil and gas projects in Vietnam such as 5B Project, the tank pipeline for Dung Quat oil refinery and gas compressor at Dinh Co gas plant. All projects undertaken by PTSC satisfy execution pace and quality requirements of its partners. PTSC has more than 4,000 employees, including over 1,500 with university degrees upwards and over 2,000 with first-grade technical certificates. This is an invaluable resource of not only PTSC but also the entire Vietnamese oil and gas industry.

PTSC has a fleet of 20 service ships, dynamic positioning ships, anti-fire ships, protection ships and (AHTS) vessels, etc., mechanics is another spearhead of PTSC. The Corporation has built many complex structures which require high tech levels, including platform for Su Tu Den Dong Bac operated by Cuu Long JOC, and Premier Oil – Chim Sao project. PTSC also built 3,000 -5,000 HP vessels for its business activities.

PTSC-operated ports lie across Vietnam to serve exploration, production and other activities. Its major deepwater ports include Vung Tau, Phu My, Dung Quat, Hon La, Nghi Son and Dinh Vu. Several ports have started operations like Phu My Port with a pier stretching 384.3 metres, allowing PTSC Phu My to serve ships of 50,000 tonnes. Its second and third piers, with 130 metres each, have handled over one million tonnes of commodities. PTSC Dinh Vu Port is invested to serve exploration and production activities in the Gulf of Tonkin and the Red River Delta in addition to its service for importers and exporters of machinery, equipment, general cargo and container goods. Nghi Son Port is to serve Vietnam’s second Nghi Son Oil Refinery in Thanh Hoa province. Additionally, PTSC is also the owner, manager and operator of the only FPSO/FSO in Vietnam.

To promote its strengths in supplying oil and gas technical services for oil and gas industry, PTSC has gradually stepped into the world market. The corporation provided service vessels for partners in Sakhalin (Russia), fabricated four platforms for Malaysia’s partners. “Occupying the domestic market and expanding international presence is the action formula of PTSC in 2009.” The corporation has opened its representative offices in Malaysia, set up two joint ventures in Singapore to manage its technical oil and gas services in the region like oilrig projects for Malaysia, technical service ships for partners in China, Indonesia, Thailand and other nations. PTSC will extend its arms to Russia, Venezuela and Cuba.

The quality of products and services is the gauge of PTSC’s success. The corporation is applying a total of 89 criteria of the US, the UK, the EU and other developed countries to services for its customers. PTSC is one of the first companies in the oil and gas industry to build and apply the ISO9001 standard as well as ISM Code, OSAH 18001 and ISO 14001 to its products and services and installed conference video systems to link the corporation with member companies.
