New property-development projects and the latest interior-exterior design products will be presented at the at the second phase of VIETBUILD 2010 international exhibition that opens next week in HCM City.

The first phase of this year’s event was held from July 10-14, focusing on construction materials and equipment using advanced technology.

Organisers said at a press conference yesterday that the September 16-20 event held at the Phu Tho Indoor Sports Stadium would have much greater participation from companies around the world this year.

Nearly 800 enterprises, including 415 domestic companies, 226 joint-venture companies and 151 foreign companies from 22 countries and territories such as Australia, China, France, Germany, Holland, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand and the US will present their wares at 2,200 booths. The number of booths this year would be nearly double that of last year, the organisers said.

The five-day event would offer opportunities to promote investment co-operation in the domestic property market and further the international economic integration process in the country, they added.

A series of prizes would be awarded to participating local businesses to encourage further improvements in quality as well as the creation of new products as they worked to build and gain international recognition of their brands. The prizes would be awarded for trademarks, product quality and creative office and house designs.

Several seminars held during the VIETBUILD expo would deal with a variety of topics including advanced technological applications in construction.
