Product sales event planned

The Vietnamese Product Sales 2010 event, to be held this year in three districts, aims to promote the use of locally made products.

The Investment and Trade Promotion Centre said the programme would be held in HCM City’s Districts of Cu Chi (May 28-30), Can Gio (September 21-24) and Binh Chanh (December 3-5).

Products will be on sale at 50 booths, with the participation of 40 – 50 businesses during each three-day promotional period.

The company fee per booth is VND3,300,000 (US$170), including value-added taxes (VAT).

To organise the event, the city’s trade promotion centre has worked with the Cu Chi, Can Gio and Binh Chanh’s departments of industry and trade and the management board of the HCM City’s Export Processing Zone Association.

The centre has also organised mobile vans that will carry and sell goods throughout Nha Be District on July 31 and October 15.

There will be 30 – 35 such mobile shops each day to sell the products of 30 – 35 businesses. The fee is VND800,000 inclusive of VAT per business.

The centre will work the Department of Industry and Trade of Nha Be District to carry out the mobile shop event.

To be eligible for the Vietnamese Product Sales 2010 event, companies must hold licences from authorised agencies, produce goods locally, and ensure product quality, food safety and hygiene standards.

The event will be advertised through various means, including cars equipped with loudspeakers, broadcast stations in communes, and invitations from HCM City Farmer’s Association, Women’s Association, Veteran’s Association and the Fatherland Front. — VNS
