Power Production Up almost 10 Percent

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) held a press conference on April 9 in Hanoi to brief power production in the first quarter of this year.

EVN made about 12.98 billion kWh (a 9.79 percent increase from the same time in 2009) and bought about 8.83 billion kWh (a 41.69 percent increase).

During this time, commercial power amounted to about 18.51 billion, up 19.68 percent against the same period last year.

To provide sufficient power in this coming dry season, EVN is increasing the readiness of power plants, reducing the upgrade time and make most of external power resources and Son Dong, Cam Pha, Quang Ninh 1 and Hai Phong 1 thermopower plants. EVN also called on offices, factories and families to save power./.
