PM Dung praises contribution made by young entrepreneurs

The Government highly valued the vital contributions young business people made to the nation’s economy in recent years, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told a meeting of the Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) here yesterday.

The PM said that in addition to boosting production and business and contributing to the State budget, young entrepreneurs had also helped improve the living conditions of workers and assisted the poor.

Representatives of young entrepreneurs were focusing on building global brand names, supporting young people in starting careers, and fostering green and sustainable development.

VYEA has more than 9,000 members with a combined revenue of US$25 billion a year. Members employ 1.5 million workers.

Meanwhile, President Nguyen Minh Triet extended his best wishes to the staff of the Viet Nam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) in Ha Noi yesterday, the ninth day of the Lunar New Year.

President Triet appreciated the efforts of Vinaconex staff in overcoming difficulties caused by the global economic crisis.

He said Vinaconex was bringing into play its capabilities in civil and infrastructure construction projects.

He said he hoped Vinaconex would build itself into a strong unit comparable to the best in the region and the world.

Earlier, the President paid a Tet visit to the staff of Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No 5. The corporation, which comes under the Ministry of Transport, is involved in the construction of the southern section of a highway connecting Ha Dong district and Phap Van-Cau Gie Road.

The first 10-km section of the 42-km roadway – and a rail overpass – are now being built.

The State leader also visited the staff at the Ha Noi General Export Import Corporation (Geleximco). — VNS
