Pharmaceuticals go up in price

Several pharmaceutical companies have increased the prices of at least thirty-nine products since November 1.

The figures were confirmed in drug stores in Ho Chi Minh City on November 6.

Xuan Phuc Co. Ltd has already informed private drug stores of an increase of 11-54 percent in the prices of 27 pharmaceutical products.

Hoa Linh Co. Ltd has also quoted higher prices for six pharmaceutical products, three of them are up 16-21 percent. Vimedimex JSC has agreed on an increase of 9-12 percent in the prices of six pharmaceutical products manufactured by Novartis.

The main reason for such increases is the soaring cost of ingredients and imported materials due to variations in the USD/VND rate. – VOV
