PetroVietnam Insurer signs insurance contract valued at $3b

PetroVietnam Insurance Joint Stock Corp (coded PVI) and Binh Son Oil Refinery one-member Co Ltd (BSR) have officially signed the insurance contract for operation process of Dung Quat Oil Refinery for the 2010-2011 period with total value of $3 billion on June 18, 2010.

In details, the insurance arm of Vietnam’s National Oil and Gas Group would provide full insurance for Dung Quat Oil Refinery, including insurance for assets risks and combined responsibility insurance worth $3 billion. With its experience in providing industrial insurance, PVI would be responsible for providing risk management consultancy for the oil refinery, introducing advanced solutions and management process and risk reduction proposals for BSR.

Previously, PVI had successfully provided insurance for the construction of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai since mid-2007.
