PetroVietnam insurer signs $200m aviation insurance contract with VNH

Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX)-listed PetroVietnam Insurance Joint Stock Corp (coded PVI) on April 28 in Hanoi signed an aviation insurance contract worth nearly $200 million with Vietnam Helicopter Corp (VNH).

The insurance contract was signed for two aviation companies namely Northern Service Flight Co (NSFC) and Southern Service Flight Corp (SSFC) with the duration of 2010-2011.

Under the signed contract, PVI will be the majority insurer and Bao Viet Insurance Corp (Bao Viet) will be the co-insurer at the ratio of 60/40.

Accordingly, PVI and Bao Viet will provide NSFC and SSFC technical supports for managing aviation safety risks, organising training courses in London (the world’s aviation insurance centre) aiming to help NSFC and SSFC improve specification knowledge on aviation insurance for professional staff.
