Petrolimex receives biggest oil tankers

A ceremony to receive Vietnam’s biggest ever oil tanker named Van Phong 1 which was built in the Republic of Korea was held in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province today

The 105,636 DWT tanker is invested by the Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation with a total investment of US$44 million.

As a result, the Petrolimex is owning a biggest tanker fleet in Vietnam in terms of transporting finished petrol and oil products

The Petrolimex’s oceangoing oil tanker fleet can meet 80% of the demand on its imported petrol and oil transportation from foreign ports.

It is expected that the Van Phong 1 oil tanker alone will transport around 1.2 million cubic metres of petrol and oil a year, helping save around US$15-18 million geared annually for renting foreign vessels
