For years, Khanh Hoa – the land of frankincense, is becoming an increasingly attractive tourist destination in Vietnam as well as the world. Nha Trang Bay is known as one of the most beautiful bays in the world but it is also a very popular rendezvous during public holidays or summer vacation.

Khanh Hoa province is not only famous for the hospitability of the people and pleasant temperate climate but also for its many romantic and poetic natural landscapes such as Dai Lanh, Nha Phu Lagoon, Van Phong Bay , Doc Lech, Thap Ba, Hon Chong, Tri Nguyen Island, Hon Tre, Hon Tam, Yang Bay, Suoi Tien and Hon Ba. Nha Trang Bay, which glorifies Nha Trang City, the capital of the province, was admitted as a 29th member of the Club of Most Beautiful Bays in the world. The Khanh Hoa coastline stretching over 385 km and featuring smooth white sand is enhanced by over 200 islands to create a sparkling coastal tourist city. In this fashion, Khanh Hoa tourism industry thrives. The local tourism industry is identified as one of the top-tier tourist centres in the country with many kinds of tourist attractions: maritime ecological tourism and touring islands together with discovering forests are very attractive to tourists.
Nha Trang is now not only a golden silky sand strip stretching along the beach and wave crests filling the horizon but is also the home to a series of service bases, hotels and restaurants. Together with these, many cultural activities and festivals are beautifying Nha Trang in particular and Khanh Hoa in general. Many large projects of country-level or world-class ecotourism, resort, entertainment have been developed and put into service such as five-star Hon Ngoc Viet resort, five-star Sunrise Hotel and Rusalka-Bai Tien Resort and Golf Court. Song Lo Tourist Resort and Evaron Hideaway at Mandara will be soon put into service. To date, many projects have been invested in Bai Dai – Cam Ranh Bay and Van Ninh – Van Phong Bay. No matter what you are doing: surfing the sea, playing with water motorcycle, water-skiing, canoeing, sailing boats; all sea sports are very attractive. Thus, since 2008, amid difficulties facing the country because of the global financial crisis and economic recession, Khanh Hoa still ensures stable economic growth. Tourism revenue in the first six months of 2009 alone exceeded VND756 billion, up 13 percent over the same period of the previous year. The consumer service revenue totalled VND17.3 billion, up 21.4 percent year on year.
Unlocking hidden charms

The brand name of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism has been gradually promoted on the tourism map in Vietnam and in the world. For years to date, Nha Trang of Khanh Hoa has hosted many national and international events such as the Miss Universe 2008, Miss Vietnam and especially bi-annual Nha Trang Sea Festival, which attracts a lot of friends far and wide to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, a civilized and friendly destination. However, the tourism industry of Khanh Hoa province still has many limitations needing to be addressed in order to become a top-tier tourist-attracting destination. Hence, Khanh Hoa has adopted various measures to spur the tourism industry like investing and upgrading the tourist centre of Nha Trang to become a first-class urban zone and the most beautiful bay in the world, applying strict regulations to maintain and protect the environment, imposing severe punishments on violations and raising the public awareness of a civilised and modern tourist city and a “green – clean – beautiful – civilised – safe – friendly” urban zone. Besides, the province will also teach students at all levels to protect environmental resources and tourism environment.
At the same time, the province will enhance general advertisement activities and coordinate with local enterprises to launch separate campaigns. In addition, the province will form new tours, improve tour quality, serve traditional tours, facilitate the people to access to capital sources to recover and build traditional craft villages and souvenir production units across the province, create products of local fine-art sea products like, bamboo items, fashion products, etc. to meet the needs of the local people and visitors, create jobs for the people, increase foreign currency revenues, etc.
