Over 202.1tr dong invested in power projects

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group announced that during the 2006-2010 period, the group has conducted largest electricity projects with total investment capital of over 202.1 trillion dong.

With such huge investment capital, during the past five years, the group has constructed and put into operation 21 power generating projects with total designed capacity of 6,280 MW. In 2010 only, EVN already started operation of 10 power plants with designed capacity of 2,078 MW.

In addition, the group has also been conducting 15 projects with total designed capacity of 10,581MW, in which six projects of 5,356 MW had been started in 2010 with total investment capital of $9 billion, including Nghi Son 1 thermo power plant, Mong Duong 1 thermo power plant, Vinh Tan 2 thermo power plant, Duyen Hai 1 thermo power plant, Song Bung 4 hydropower plant, Lai Chau hydropower plant and Duyen Hai 3 thermo power plant.

There were other 11 projects in investment preparation phase with total designed capacity of 7,285MW and five other projects to be conducted in 2011-2015 period, including Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plant (with capacity of 4,000 MW) and three pumped storage hydropower plants of Bac Ai, Ham Thuan Bac and Moc Chau of 3,600MW.

In the past five years, EVN has also conducted other power grid projects of 110-500 KV with total length of 3,900 kilometres, medium and low-level transmission grid of 35KV to 0.4KV with total length of 58,100 kilometres and the transmission stations with total capacity of 29,100 MVA. – Congthuong
