Outstanding Vietnamese businesses honoured in Laos

An award ceremony was held in Vientiane, Laos on January 15 to honour outstanding Vietnamese individuals and businesses operating in Laos.

The event was co-organised by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Lao Ministry of Communication and Culture, Radio the Voice of Vietnam and some agencies of Vietnam and Laos.

The organising board has conferred the “For the Development of ASEAN Community” title, and the “Mekong Golden Trademark” award on 24 businesses. The “Talent Director” Golden Cup has been also presented to 14 outstanding individuals.

The prizes were given in recognition of the great efforts made by individuals and businesses to contribute to the country’s socio-economic and cultural development.

These businesses have also taken the lead in the application of latest technologies, protecting the environment and training high quality human resources as well as carrying out charity works.

According to the organising board, over the past years, these outstanding businesses and individuals have earned a total revenue of nearly VND100,000 billion and contributed nearly VND100 billion to charity activities.

On the occasion, Vietnam’s social organisations and businesses have raised thousands of dollars to the Lao Fund for the Poor. – VOV
