Opening Soon: Two River Boat Routes

Given increasing transport pressure, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport recently adopted a plan for the Thuong Nhat Co., Ltd. to transport passengers by boat along rivers in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the first phase of the plan, the company will test two routes. Route 1 will span 25km between An Loc, An Hoa, Binh Loi, Thanh Da, Sai Gon River, Te Canal, Ong Lon Canal, Dia Canal, Roi Canal and Phu Xuan River. Route 2 will connect Ben Nghe and Tau Hu with a total length of about 12km and six stops.

The investor will set up four central passenger stations and buy four boats, which will start every 15 minutes during rush hours. A minimum VND70 billion will be invested in these routes./.
