Aug 30 (Reuters) – Canadian gold producer Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc (OYM.TO: Quote) said its only gold-producing plant, Bong Mieu, in central Vietnam was reopened on Thursday after a one-day shutdown due to an incident of vandalism and theft.

Property damage and theft of gold ore were minimal, the company said in a statement. Last month, Olympus Pacific, which also owns the Phuoc Son mine in Vietnam, had reported a 12 percent sequential rise in second-quarter production at Bong Mieu.

The company’s shares, which have lost about 10 percent in the last three months, closed at 34.5 Canadian cents Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. – Reuters
