New thermal power plant built in Tra Vinh

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and China’s Dongfeng Group began construction on the Duyen Hai 1 thermal power plant in the southern province of Tra Vinh on September 19 in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong.

The 1,245MW Duyen Hai 1 power plant is an important project contributing to the country’s socio-economic development, said Mr Trong at the ground-breaking ceremony.

Mr Trong asked the investor and the contractor to comply strictly with commitments in the construction contract and ensure the project’s workflow, giving priority to hiring local young people as workers.

He also asked the local authorities to focus on site clearance for the project and take care of the people in the project’s area.

Earlier, Mr Trong also inspected a contracted project in Dan Thanh commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province. – VOV
