National contest for hotel receptionists

A professionalism contest for hotel receptionists will take place in Hanoi from September 11-15 with the participation of 130 shortlisted candidates from cities and provinces, announced the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) on September 8.

The event aims to honour the reception profession and to provide a venue for receptionists to exchange experience in improving their services.

Nguyen Phuong Anh, Vice Head of VNAT‘s Hotel Department, said the contest will help tourism staff and relevant sectors and professions know more about the profession.

From the total 130 candidates, 30 will be chosen for competitions in one of three foreign languages – English, French, and Chinese, and the 10 most proficient will go to the final.

Vietnam now has over 10,000 hotels and about 14,000 receptionists. – VOV
