Muong Kim hydropower plant joins national grid

Muong Kim hydropower plant, with designed capacity of 13.5 MW officially produced commercial electricity and joined the national power grid yesterday Sep 8, 2010.

This is the fifth hydropower plant in Yen Bai province to be finished construction and put into operation. At present, there are 18 hydropower plant projects that have been carried out currently with total registered investment capital of seven trillion dong, and designed capacity of 295.6 MW.

Hanoi Electrical Equipment Co was the main investor of Muong Kim hydropower plant that was located in Ho Bon Commune, Mu Cang Chai Dist, Yen Bai province. The hydropower plant has three turbines with total investment capital of 720 billion dong.

From now to the end of 2010, it was expected that two other hydropower plants of Ngoi Hut 1 and Lang Bang would be completed and put into operation.
