MoU on building Song Hau 1 thermo power plant signed between Vietnam and Japan

The signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and Japanese International Cooperation Agency (Jica) on a project to build Song Hau (Hau River) 1 thermo power plant was taken place in Hanoi on January 18.

The plant will have two turbine units with a capacity of 600 MW each.

The MoU includes research and development of the project implementation plan; developing system of the fuel supply, research and development for the transmission line system and transformer stations; and planning for the imported coal entrepot port.

Jica will establish a survey group and submit the final report to MoIT by July 2011.

Through the survey, Jica and the Vietnamese will consider how best to carry out the project and arrange ODA for the infrastructure of the project. – An Ninh thu do
