More than 900 commodities enjoy tax reduction

924 commodities such as agricultural, forest, and aquatic products; construction materials, electronic products will enjoy reduction in import taxes of 1 â€“ 6 percent.

The reduction of import tax is part of Vietnamâ€™s WTO commitment. It is expected to provide consumers with a larger choice of imported and exported goods.

It also places pressure on made-in-Vietnam goods as they have to compete with imported products.
