Laos, Vietnam boost cooperation in IT, post and telecoms

Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son held a working session with his Lao counterpart, Hiem Phommachanh, in Hanoi on December 15.

They discussed measures to strengthen bilateral ties in the fields of information technology (IT), post and telecommunications.

Both ministers agreed to speed up the implementation of a cooperation agreement signed by the two ministries on December 15 under which Vietnam will help Laos develop infrastructure and facilities for the 9^th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) scheduled for November 2012.

They also exchanged experience in building management policies on IT, post and telecommunications, as well as digital technology. – VOV
