January sees a fall in fully-assembled car import
The import of fully assembled cars from abroad in January reduced by 1,000 units and by US$8 million in value over December last year, according to the General Statistics Office.
However, there was a sharp increase in the number of fully assembled cars compared to the same period last year to 6,000 units with a total export turnover of US$107 million.
January also saw around 10,000 motorbikes worth US$14 million imported in January – a slight increase over the same month of last year.
