International Travel Expo kicks off in southern hub

The sixth International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2010) opened in the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre on September 30, attracting 125 travel businesses and leading tour operators from 35 nations, including Vietnamese tourism’s key potential markets.

Participants include nine foreign tourism promotion agencies and 15 foreign press agencies.

The expo, which will run until October 2, provides a venue for domestic and foreign tourism businesses to meet and sign trade contracts. It is open to anyone who wants to know more about tourism products and services.

At the fourth ASEAN Tourism Investment Forum held on September 29-30, there was a meeting between tourism ministers from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, who agreed to strengthen tourism cooperation in the region.

Under the agreement, the four countries will promote information and experience exchanges among their national tourism agencies and assist each other in international tourism events.

The four also agreed to boost cooperation in training and developing human resources for the tourism industry, and to promote measures that facilitate tourist travel. – VOV
